Weeds, fairies and walking my talk

For most of my life, I have been intrigued with weeds and herbs. The scent of thyme as I played in secret glades and spoke to the fairies I knew were there, are part of happy childhood memories.

Weeds still sing to me as magical underated hidden treasures of health and wellbeing. To the despair of my children I have been known to make pesto from dandelion, bidibid, thyme, sage and basil. Wild greens are a regular addition to my smoothies and juices and attendees at my first Soul Heart Retreat will probably never forget my wild weed soup!

But there is a deeper call being heard. I am being called to listen and enter into a rich and rewarding relationship with the bounty of Mother Earth. For many years the spring ‘diet’ offered by Mother Nature of cleavers, chickweed, dandelion, clover, plantain and others has been an invitation declined. This year, it is an invitation accepted. It it time to walk my talk – to put my ‘money’ where my mouth is!

For the next 8 weeks, I will be drinking nourishing and mineral-rich teas, ingesting delicious weed and flower salads, periodically fasting and hydrating well with pure water. Ideally I will be looking to eat only that which can be foraged on our property and that which is gifted.

I will be writing a blog about my experiences and progress on my website so be sure to tune in.

We all have opportunities to walk our talk. What is yours?

Many spring blessings

Debbie
